5 months

Sloane turned 5 months while we were on vacation at the Frio. She is growing so fast. Jake and I are amazed at how she has progressed from a newborn until now. She keeps getting prettier by the days too!

Here are some things Miss Sloane can do at 5 months:

* sleep through the night
* track movement
* recognize voices
* grab things and put them in her mouth
* smile
* laugh out loud
* roll over from back to tummy
* holds her head up

She has always been a good sleeper and usually gets about 11-12 hours of sleep each night. Most of the time she takes 3 naps a day, two big ones in the morning and afternoon then a cat nap in the evening. She is eating about 7 ounces 4 times a day. Her feeding schedule generally goes 8am, 11:30, 3:30, 7pm. She will get to start eating cereal in a couple of weeks. She is drooling alot and has for a while so we think teeth will come soon. She puts everything in her mouth and drools all over it. She can roll over quite well, but doesn't like to be on her tummy, hence the bald spot on the back of her head. She likes to roll over, but once she gets to her stomach, she gets frustrated. On her tummy, she will look up then start to kick and wiggle like she is about to take off but sadly doesn't go anywhere. That's when she gets fussy and someone has to come rescue her from her tummy side to her back where she is much happier. She likes to be able to see herself in the mirror and all of the things hanging from her mat.

Trip to Corpus Christi

The Thomens traveled to Corpus Christi last weekend to visit friends. Jake went fishing with the guys and Sloane and I had girl time poolside! First Sloane took a nap, therefore I got some quality sun time. When she woke up, we both went swimming. I was hoping she would show some excitement or surprise, but she was relaxed as normal. Here you can see that her hair curls when wet.

Sloane's First Swim

After holding Sloane a while, I put her in a float. She was still too small for it so we had to squish two towels around her so she would be more stable in the float. Her she is chillin in the float.

After a day in the sun, we all went to eat at a restaurant where they cooked the fish Jake and the boys caught which was drum and trout. The fish was delicious but there were so many, we couldn't eat it all. Here is a picture of the group. We had a great time in Corpus!
